The overall visions for the ASSITEJ 2011-festival are:
• Globality - representation from all parts of the world
• Relevance - reflection and reflection upon the present state of performing arts for young audiences in the world today
• Diversity - a celebration of the diversity and equality of cultures
• Quality - performances of the highest quality
The Performing Arts Festival for Young Audiences is an international festival presenting selected high quality work from all over the world.
It is the intention to bring 25-30 performances to Copenhagen/Malmoe during the 10 days of the festival and to have 5-6 presentations of each performance.
The festival intends to reflect the “here and now” in contemporary children’s theatre.
What absorbs theatre people in different countries now - and what are their artistic answers to the challenges that we – and our children and young people - face?
Hence, the festival will focus on new original plays.
"The classics of tomorrow must be written today"
